Description of the tour
This tour is recommended for lovers of ecotourism and hiking. On this tour we will go on a five-six-hour walk to Northern Patagonia forest- Alerce Andino National Park.
The tour starts with the city of Puerto Montt - a small port and industrial city founded by German settlers over 150 years ago. For tourists, this city is the gateway to Patagonia because from there start many tours in the south of Chile to Patagonia. There we will visit the main square, Cathedral, and the observation deck overlooking the whole Reloncavi Sound and the city. We will also visit the Angelmo market famous for fresh seafood and souvenirs. Then we will go to the Alerce Andino National Park - evergreen millennial rainforest. There we will walk for about 5 miles (8 kilometers). Alerce or Fitzroya is one of the unique species of evergreen trees in this park, growing only in the northern Patagonia. Some specimens are dated as 4000 years old. Fitzroya is considered one of the largest trees in South America. After visiting the park we will have lunch and go back to the hotel.
